Leica Store San Francisco has a rare Leica MP gold People's Republic of China 60 years commemorative edition camera for sale at $49995. The full set of the same model sold for over $85k back in 2013. Here is the camera description from the product listing:
Sixty of these MP gold sets were made to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China in 2009. The body, #3831507, is gold plated and covered in red calf's skin. The lens is the 50mm1.4 Asph, #4073368. This set does not have the edition number. This is not uncommon in special editions for Leica to produce a few units as production samples, which are outside of the numbering of the edition. We have seen this with the current M60, the M9-P Hermes and the Paul Smith X2, just to name a few. This one comes with the lens, cap and display box. There is no outer box or paperwork present. The camera has seen very slight use as there is evidence of the mounting of a strap on the camera. This is a very rare and uncommon camera to see, especially here in the USA!
